FORUM NEUES WETTER
Site-specific installation and event series (Scaffolding, billboards, temporary café, seating) / 2023
Based on the two floodings of 2002 and 2013, the art installation "Forum Neues Wetter - Über Klima, Boden und Teil habe" (Forum New Weather - About Climate, Soil and Part) addresses questions about a climate-friendly city, local and regional climate policy options and civil society engagement.
The project initiators, consisting of the artists' collective Situation Room and the office for spatial design lfm2, created a platform for events as a site-specific art installation on the wasteland. Representatives of the city of Grimma, the district of Leipzig, scientists and local as well as supraregional actors introduced their work, engagement and research in lectures, talks, workshops and film screenings and invite people to participate. The wasteland in Paul Gerhardt-Strasse, which was created by the floods in 2002, will thus become a place where the change in climate and thus also the increase in extreme weather events will be addressed and green spaces as well as wastelands will be seen as a potential for the future of cities.
